How should a Greece passport photo look?
Greece uses a unique 35×45 mm print size; the head occupies 50-60% of the photo height (about 30-36 mm). The backdrop must be light grey at RGB(190;190;190) within ±10 tolerance. Greece runs the mandatory MyPhoto portal through gov.gr: printed photos are accepted only until 31 January 2026; after that the studio uploads to the platform and the citizen links the file with their AFM (tax ID).

The bodies that set the spec
The standard is published by the Hellenic Police. The photo must be within six months of the capture date. Prescription glasses are accepted with no glare; tinted or sunglasses are banned.
Workflow after the shoot
Open the captured frame in PhotoID Studio and pick the Greece preset; the app aligns the face, calibrates the backdrop to the RGB 190 target and outputs a MyPhoto-compliant digital JPEG at 35×45 mm and 300 DPI. The studio operator then uploads that file through their gov.gr MyPhoto certified-studio account, and the citizen later links the file to their application using their own AFM.
Capture setup and direction
Seat the customer 1.5-2 m in front of an RGB 190 grey backdrop with shoulders parallel to the camera. Camera on a tripod, lens at eye level. Standard setup: a 50-85 mm portrait lens, f/8, a softbox at 45° with a reflector opposite. Keep white balance neutral: drift from RGB 190 is not tolerated. Cue: "chin slightly back, mouth closed, eyes fully open, neutral expression".
Why MyPhoto rejects
• Backdrop outside RGB(190;190;190) within ±10. • Size other than 35×45 mm. • Head height outside 50-60% of the photo. • A frame older than six months from the capture date. • Tinted or sunglasses lenses. • A smile, visible teeth, an open mouth. • Hair covering the eyes.
For studios uploading to the Greek MyPhoto portal
After 31 January 2026 printed acceptance ends; every photo is uploaded to the MyPhoto portal and linked through AFM. The PhotoID Studio Greece preset locks the 35×45 mm size and the RGB 190 backdrop together.
