With the PhotoID Studio desktop app you can create a custom photo size for any document used in any country, save it as a preset, and reuse your saved preset with a single click.

Always verify the size before an official application

The information here reflects the sizes commonly accepted for visa applications. Authorities can change photo requirements without prior notice, and different documents in the same country (passport, ID card, driving licence, residence permit) may require different sizes. Check the current guidance of the authority you are applying to before preparing your photo.

How should a Bangladesh visa photo look?

Bangladesh uses a single standard: a 35×45 mm print on a white background; the e-passport portal also accepts a digital upload of the same photo. Applicants cannot wear white clothing: the spec explicitly bans it. Validity around six months. Thick-framed and reflective glasses are not permitted.

The body that sets the spec

The standard is published by the Department of Immigration and Passports (DIP). The print format is 35×45 mm on a white background; the e-passport.gov.bd portal also accepts a digital upload of the same frame.

Workflow after the shoot

The frame goes to PhotoID Studio and the Bangladesh preset is selected; the app aligns the face, checks for the no-white-clothing rule, cleans the background to pure white and produces the 35×45 mm print plus a digital copy for the portal from the same frame. Both outputs in one click.

Capture setup and direction

Seat the customer 1.5-2 m in front of the white backdrop with shoulders parallel to the camera. Camera on a tripod, lens at eye level. Standard setup: a 50-85 mm portrait lens, f/8 aperture, a softbox at 45° with a reflector on the opposite side. The customer wears a dark colour, not white; thick-framed glasses come off; only thin, glare-free medical glasses may be tolerated.

Reasons for rejection at DIP

• White clothing: DIP explicitly bans white clothing on the applicant. • Non-white backdrop or visible shadow. • Thick-framed, reflective or tinted glasses. • A frame older than six months. • Wrong print size: anything other than 35×45 mm is rejected. • A smile, visible teeth, or an open mouth. • Hair below the chin or hiding face features.

For studios in Bangladesh

Bangladeshi studios deliver a 35×45 mm print and a digital copy for the e-passport portal. The PhotoID Studio Bangladesh preset locks both outputs.

Frequently asked questions

What size is the Bangladesh passport photo?

35×45 mm on a white background. The same photo can also be uploaded digitally to the e-passport portal.

Can I be photographed in white clothing?

No. DIP explicitly bans white clothing; the applicant must contrast with the white backdrop, so a dark colour is preferred.

Are glasses permitted?

Thick-framed, reflective and tinted glasses are not allowed. Thin, glare-free medical glasses may be tolerated with careful approval.
