What a passport photo maker should handle
A good tool covers five steps: detecting the face, measuring head ratio and eye line, removing the background cleanly, cropping to the country size, and producing a print-ready layout. Doing these separately in Photoshop is slow and error-prone.

Studio workflow: from camera to print in 3 steps
1. Open the photo: straight from the memory card or your computer. Raw or already edited, it works either way.
2. Pick a country template: US 2×2 in, Schengen 35×45 mm, Turkey 50×60 mm or any of 130+ countries. The app detects the face, removes the background and crops to size.
3. Send to print: export a single photo or an A4 / 10×15 layout with cut lines at 300 DPI. Hand it to your client in minutes.

Why a desktop app?
Client photos are personal data. Online tools upload the photo to their servers and keep it there. In PhotoID Studio, face detection, cropping, sizing and print layout run on your own computer; only background removal and retouching send a downscaled copy to the GPU on our server. The server returns a mask rather than an edited photo, the final image is assembled on your machine, and nothing is stored.
It runs natively on Mac (Apple Silicon M1 and later, Intel) and Windows 10+: no browser, no files in the cloud.

- Does PhotoID Studio need an internet connection?
Yes, a connection is required. Face detection, cropping, sizing and print layout run on your computer; background removal and retouching process a downscaled copy of the photo on the GPU in our server. What comes back is a mask rather than a photo, and nothing is saved anywhere.
- Which operating systems are supported?
It runs as a native app on Mac (Apple Silicon M1 and later, and Intel) and Windows 10 and later.
- How many country templates are included?
130+ country templates are preloaded (US, Schengen, UK, Turkey, China, Japan and more). You can also enter custom dimensions for any standard not listed.
- Is there a free trial?
Yes: a 1-month free trial with no credit card required. After the trial, exported photos carry a watermark; a subscription removes it.
- Can it create print layouts?
